LGBTQ+ CSDSA Chair Dr. Charles Lenell (they/them) was featured on the Conversations in Speech Pathology podcast to discuss the need for transparency from academic institutions that participate in anti-LGBTQ+ practices and hold Title IX exceptions.
Upholding Inclusive Practices in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology
Members of L’GASP, the Multicultural Issues Board, and the ASHA State Affairs Team—including LGBTQ+ CSDSA Chair, Charlie Lenell—came together to record a lecture with an article summary to inform and empower professionals with information regarding the legislative landscape surrounding gender-affirming care and advocacy for transgender and gender expansive clients, students, and professionals within the discipline of Communication Science and Disorders.
Research to Guide Future Advocacy
This year, the LGBTQ+ CSDSA launched a survey to gain a better understanding of the experiences of LGBTQ+ students within their university’s Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) undergraduate or graduate program(s) in the United States. Results will guide future advocacy efforts and programming.
