On March 18th, 2024, we had the pleasure of hosting our first intersectionality roundtable discussion. Intersectionality is a framework that recognizes how multiple aspects of identity, such as race, gender, sexuality, disability, and class, intersect and interact to shape individuals’ experiences of oppression and privilege. Here are some key takeaways from our discussion, which included CSD students and professionals:

Recognition of Multiple Identities: Understanding how identities intersect is crucial for providing effective and culturally sensitive care.

Intersectionality is Dynamic: Intersectionality changes and grows as our identities and those of our clients evolve over time.
